How to send your first file with SendMe
Drop a file, share a 6-digit code, done. Here's the full walkthrough in under two minutes.
SendMe is built to remove every step that doesn't strictly need to exist. You don't need to sign up, you don't need to know the recipient's email, and you don't need to remember any settings. The default flow takes about twenty seconds.
Step 1 — Open sendme.co.in
On any device with a browser (yes, even an old iPad or a Linux laptop), visit sendme.co.in. The home page loads with a large dotted dropzone — that's where the transfer starts.
Step 2 — Drop the file
Drag a file from your desktop into the dropzone, or click it to open the file picker. You can add multiple files in one transfer — they'll bundle together under the same code. The free plan accepts up to 100 MB per file.
Step 3 — Pick an expiry (optional)
By default, transfers expire in 24 hours. If your file is more sensitive — say, a passport scan you're sending to your bank — choose 1 hour. If it's a photo gallery for your parents, pick 7 days. The expiry timer starts the moment you upload, not the moment they download.
Step 4 — Add a password (optional)
For anything truly sensitive, tick 'Add password' before you upload. You'll set a string that the receiver must enter to download. Share the code on one channel (text message) and the password on a different channel (phone call). If one channel leaks, the file stays locked.
Step 5 — Share the code
After upload, you'll see a 6-digit code, a QR code, and a direct link (sendme.co.in/r/XXXXXX). Send whichever fits — the code is great for phone calls, the QR for in-person handoffs, the link for chat.
What the receiver does
They visit sendme.co.in, click 'Receive', type the 6-digit code, and the download begins. If you set a password, they'll be prompted for it after entering the code. No account needed on their end either.
